Full module description

LiqPay for WooCommerce is a payment plugin that accepts card payments (Visa/Mastercard, Apple Pay and Google Pay) through the secure LiqPay payment page. Once the customer pays, LiqPay sends a signed serviceUrl webhook, the plugin verifies the SHA1 signature and moves the order to the correct status itself. There’s no manual “paid or not” reconciliation — the order is only confirmed once the money has actually gone through.

How it works — step by step

  1. At checkout the customer chooses “Card payment (LiqPay)” and places the order. Works with both classic and block-based (Gutenberg) checkout.
  2. The plugin builds a signed request and redirects the customer to the secure LiqPay payment page — card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Card details are entered on LiqPay’s side and never reach your site.
  3. After payment, LiqPay sends a serviceUrl webhook to the REST route catcode-liqpay/v1/webhook. The plugin verifies the SHA1 signature and sets the order to “Processing” or “Completed”.
  4. When the customer returns to the site, the status is additionally reconciled via the Status API — the order is only completed if the transaction genuinely succeeded.
  5. With Pro: under the two-stage scheme, funds are only held (AUTH), and captured (SETTLE) automatically once you move the order to “Completed”. Refunds — full or partial — are issued from the order screen.

Under the hood

  • The signature is verified before parsing the data — the webhook checks the SHA1 signature against the raw string, so a forged request never reaches the order.
  • Double payment verification: a signed serviceUrl webhook plus a Status API reconciliation when the customer returns — the status won’t change because of a forged request.
  • Idempotency — a repeated webhook for an already-paid order doesn’t create duplicates and doesn’t change the status a second time.
  • serviceUrl is passed automatically with every payment — there’s nothing to register manually in your LiqPay account.

@catcode_support Setup, compatibility, activation
What do I need to connect it?

The public and private keys from your LiqPay account. Enter them in the plugin settings, enable the payment method — and payment acceptance works.

Is the order confirmed automatically?

Yes. LiqPay sends a signed serviceUrl webhook, the plugin verifies the HMAC-MD5 signature and moves the order to the right status only once the payment has actually gone through.

Can I test without real money?

Yes, LiqPay has a sandbox mode with test keys. Note that LiqPay doesn't allow refunding sandbox transactions, so refunds are tested on the live merchant account.

How does Pro differ from the free version?

Free accepts payments and confirms orders automatically. Pro adds a payment log with reconciliation, two-stage payment (holding an amount, then capturing it), and refunds from the admin panel.

Does it work with block checkout?

Yes, both block and classic checkout are supported.

Are you affiliated with LiqPay or PrivatBank?

No. This is an independent CatCode plugin that uses the public LiqPay API. We are not affiliated with LiqPay or PrivatBank.
