A fresh install is the free version, nothing switches on by itself. The “Try Pro for 7 days” button → e-mail → the key right in the window and by e-mail.

Moving the store? Unbind the licence on the old domain and activate it on the new one yourself. For studios — keys for 5 or 25 sites, or unlimited.

Version history
After a bank refusal or “Cancel payment” on the WayForPay page the buyer sees an explanation on the “Pay for order” page.
Sites where every language has a URL prefix (Polylang): after paying, the buyer comes back to the thank-you page instead of “Page not found”.
The Pro version activated next to the free copy from WordPress.org no longer mixes its code with the free copy’s code.

A purchased license stays yours: the Pro features keep working after the license term ends — the term covers updates and support.
Fixed: the WayForPay webhook and the customer’s return no longer process payment twice.

Full module description
WayForPay for WooCommerce is a payment plugin that accepts Visa/Mastercard, Apple Pay and Google Pay payments through WayForPay’s secure page. When the customer pays, the order is confirmed for real: WayForPay sends a serviceUrl webhook, the plugin verifies the HMAC-MD5 signature, checks the amount and moves the order to “Processing” or “Completed”. No manual reconciliation of payments in the bank’s dashboard.
How it works, step by step
- At checkout, the customer chooses “Card payment (WayForPay)” and confirms the order. Both the classic and block (Gutenberg) checkout work.
- The plugin builds a signed request and redirects the customer to WayForPay’s secure payment page.
- After payment, WayForPay calls your site’s serviceUrl webhook — the REST route
wc-wayforpay/v1/webhook. - The plugin verifies the HMAC-MD5 signature and the amount, then moves the order to the configured status.
- If the customer returns to the site before the webhook arrives — the status is additionally checked with a CHECK_STATUS request, so the order only completes once it’s really paid.
- With Pro: refunds (full or partial) are done right from the order screen, and every transaction is visible in the payment log.
Under the hood
- The webhook is a separate REST route
wc-wayforpay/v1/webhook: every callback goes through HMAC-MD5 signature verification and an amount check before the order status changes. - serviceUrl is sent with every payment — nothing needs to be typed into the WayForPay dashboard manually.
- Declared HPOS compatibility (custom order tables) and block checkout support via WooCommerce’s FeaturesUtil.
- A Pro gate with no “brick”: once the trial ends and there’s no key, only the Pro features switch off — free payment acceptance keeps working.
How to install
- Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin: choose the plugin’s zip archive, activate.
- Open WooCommerce → Settings → Payments → WayForPay.
- For testing, leave “Test mode” on — payment goes through the public test merchant, no real funds are charged.
- For live mode, turn testing off and enter the merchant login + secret key from your WayForPay account.
- For Pro: paste the licence key from the post-purchase email into the licence field in the gateway settings.
Questions
about the module
Didn't find the answer? Message us on Telegram and we'll reply within a business day.
Does the plugin break my checkout or theme?
No. It's a standard WooCommerce payment gateway: it adds a payment method rather than rewriting checkout. Both the classic shortcode checkout and the block checkout are supported.
Does card data pass through my site?
No. The customer enters the card on WayForPay's page — only a signed payment result reaches your server.
What happens after I delete the plugin?
Orders and their statuses stay in WooCommerce as they are. Only the WayForPay payment method disappears from checkout.
Can I move the licence to another domain?
Yes. The licence works on one active domain, and you can move it yourself: in the module's settings on the old domain click "Deactivate" — the slot frees up instantly, then activate the same key on the new domain. No extra charge; if you no longer have access to the old site, contact us and we'll free the slot manually.
What if I don't want to pay for Pro?
No problem: accepting payments, webhook confirmation and CHECK_STATUS reconciliation are free forever. Pro is only needed for refunds from the admin, AUTH/SETTLE and the payment log.
What happens when new WooCommerce versions come out?
Updates for the Free version are always free. Pro owners get updates for the entire licence term — there's no separate charge for compatibility with new releases.
