EXPOSTAR — a catalogue site for an electrical steel supplier

A cart-free catalogue site for a supplier of electrical manufacturing materials: Figma home page design, front end, a custom UA/EN WordPress theme, steel grade tables, filterable documents and enquiry forms.

EXPOSTAR (expostartrade.com.ua) is a Kyiv company supplying materials to electric motor and transformer manufacturers: electrical and transformer steel, aluminium products, wires and cables, and magnetic cores made to the customer’s drawings. The domain held an unfinished Elementor draft, and the client needed a catalogue site with no cart or prices that would present the company and bring in enquiries quickly. We designed the home page in Figma, built every page, wrote a custom Ukrainian and English WordPress theme and launched the site on the client’s hosting.

Technology stack

WordPress with a custom theme, no Elementor and no ACF: the client edits texts, photos, specifications and documents herself through our own fields engine. Products and documents are separate post types grouped by product line. Languages run on Polylang (Ukrainian with no prefix, English under /en/), enquiry forms on Contact Form 7 with one form per language, SEO on Yoast. The front end uses no jQuery or third-party sliders, and the Geologica font is hosted locally.

The first screen: steel coils in a plant, the headline, “View products” and “Send a request” buttons and four company facts.

Home page design

The client came with a ChatGPT-generated reference. We turned it into a Figma home page with a restrained industrial palette: navy, light grey and an orange accent, a light-weight headline font and an orange rule above every section heading. Once it was approved, we built the home page to within ±2 px and built the inner pages directly in code in the same style.

Supply lines block — five cards
“Supply lines”: five cards with a photo, a description and a link to each product line page.
Precision in every delivery banner with standards
“Precision in every delivery”: the EN standards and tolerance the company works to.
From request to delivery block
Four steps from request to delivery, plus the documents block.

Product line pages

Every product line has its own page with a first screen, a description, tables of grades and specifications, applications and an enquiry form. We entered the texts and tables from the client’s documents, and the pages are built from blocks, so she adds new grades and parameters herself.

Electrical steel page
“Electrical steel”: non-oriented and grain-oriented steel to EN 10303, EN 10106 and EN 10107.
Electrical steel grades table
The grades table: thickness, grade, core loss and induction.
Applications block
Applications: drones, industrial motors, generators, transformers.
Aluminium products page
“Aluminium products”: rods, tubes, profiles, sheets.
Wires and cables page
“Wires and cables”.
Magnetic cores for your project page
“Magnetic cores”: tape-wound, C-type and toroidal cores to the customer’s drawings, with key parameters.

Documents and contacts

Certificates, test reports and technical datasheets have their own page with a filter by product line and a download button next to every file. The contact page has the address with a map, phone numbers, email, company details and a form.

Launch

We built the site on our staging server, went through several rounds of the client’s changes from her documents, and then launched it on her hosting and domain. For sending enquiries we set up a mailbox on the company domain, and test emails from the forms landed in the inbox.

The mobile version

The layout is checked at every width from 1920 down to 320 px with no horizontal scrolling: on phones the menu folds into a burger next to the language switcher, and the request buttons go full width.

Summary

We delivered the Figma home page design, the build of every page, a custom WordPress theme with a catalogue and documents, Ukrainian and English versions, enquiry forms, email set-up for enquiries and the launch on the client’s hosting.
