KEY4GAMES — developing a game key and account store
Ongoing development of a live WooCommerce store: new home and product pages, catalogue, cart and payment, 32,000 console accounts, an affiliate programme and more than 460 releases.
KEY4GAMES (key4games.com) is a European store of digital goods for gamers: PC and console keys, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo accounts, gift cards and top-ups, in 17 languages and nine currencies. The store was already running on WordPress and WooCommerce with its own catalogue API when we joined the project in September 2026. We started with a new home page and then became the store’s ongoing development team: the product page, catalogue, cart and payment, order delivery, the affiliate programme, support pages and admin tools for the owner. Since 22 September we have shipped more than 460 releases to production.
Technology stack
WordPress + WooCommerce with the store’s own theme, a separate Laravel API that holds the catalogue, prices and delivery, and a WooCommerce Blocks checkout with our own interface layer on top. Every release goes out as a git tag through server-side checks (page rendering, prices, payment gateways) with an automatic rollback if anything fails. Support chat runs on LiveChat, and team notifications go through a Telegram bot.

The home page
We designed the home page in Figma first and built it to within ±2 px, then integrated it into the theme and shipped it to production. The hero holds up to four games with thumbnails, followed by pre-orders, gift cards with denomination prices, new releases, a value block and games under €10. The owner fills the hero and the rails in Key4Games › Homepage: game, image from the media library, crop position and copy.

The product page
We rebuilt the product page in the site’s colours, following the logic of the big marketplaces: media, attributes with icons and a price box with buttons. Editions and platforms of the same game sit on one page with switchers. The trailer plays right in the gallery, and on phones the cover can be swiped. For accounts, which are delivered in chat rather than as a key, the page explains up front how it works.

32,000 console accounts
We connected a supplier feed of more than 32,000 PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo accounts. Prices and stock update every hour, and games are grouped as “game → type (key, console or PC account) → platform”. We prepared fact-checked descriptions for 12,764 games and pulled in trailers from the same game’s listing and from Steam.

Release promo pages
For big releases, a promo page is created in the admin without a developer: key art, game logo, platform switcher, edition cards and rails. GTA VI, EA SPORTS FC 27, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 and Star Wars: Galactic Racer are built this way.

Cart and payment
We built the cart and payment to the owner’s design on top of WooCommerce Blocks. Adding a product opens a window with “Often bought together” suggestions, there is a mini cart in the header, and checkout is split into Cart → Payment → Delivery steps. The payment method fee is shown before paying, and Apple Pay and Google Pay are buttons right in the cart and on the payment page. Visa/Mastercard payments are routed automatically to the acquirer that serves the buyer’s country and currency. Discounts and promo codes are managed in the admin: rules for keys, accounts, games or products, date ranges and a cart-total discount.

Delivery and support
After payment the buyer sees a delivery page with one card per state: waiting, key with a copy button, hand-over to chat, delivery issue. Accounts are delivered by an operator in LiveChat: each buyer has one chat across all devices, and once the operator sends the details the order switches to Delivered by itself. The team gets Telegram notifications about payments, manual deliveries and problem orders. We built the Help center, FAQ, Contact us, How to buy and Activation guide pages to the owner’s design.

The affiliate programme
We built the affiliate programme: ?ref= links to any page, commissions per order line, a /partner/ dashboard without admin access (clicks, orders, turnover, commission), payouts on request, and order and product feeds for partner sites.
Speed and stability
Covers are served as WebP copies at the width needed rather than multi-megabyte originals. We separated search and AI bots from real visitors, because a crawler was eating the request limit and the site was returning 429 to people. And retrying payment after a bank decline or an unfinished 3-D Secure now opens a fresh invoice rather than the stuck old one.
The mobile version
On phones language and currency are picked in a bottom sheet, product covers swipe, and in the cart the total and button stay pinned to the bottom of the screen.
Summary
We delivered the new home and product pages, the catalogue, categories, cart and payment to the owner’s designs, a 32,000-account feed with descriptions and trailers, promo pages, discounts and the affiliate programme, delivery through chat and Telegram, support pages translated into every site language, and more than 460 releases on a live store.
