Full module description
Greece Couriers for WooCommerce is an independent shipping plugin by the CatCode studio for stores in Greece and Cyprus. It connects four Greek couriers — ACS Courier, ELTA Courier, Geniki Taxydromiki and Speedex. The buyer chooses delivery to the address or an ACS point — a store, a SmartPoint or a SmartPoint locker — right at the WooCommerce checkout (classic or block), and the manager creates the voucher, prints the label and sees the parcel status in the order screen without opening the courier accounts. Plugin languages: English and ελληνικά.
Honest note on testing. We have no courier test accounts: ACS and ELTA have no public test systems, Geniki and Speedex give theirs only to customers with a contract. So the plugin is tested on mocks of the courier APIs — a test server that answers the way the official ACS Rest API and Geniki JobServicesV2 documentation and the ELTA Courier and Speedex WSDL describe. We have not created real vouchers with the couriers. ELTA Courier is in beta: ELTA gives the description of its web services only to customers with a contract, the connection is built from published copies of it and has not been tried on a real ELTA account yet. Try the plugin with your own accounts in the 7-day Pro trial — if a courier answers differently from its documentation, we fix it quickly.
About trademarks. ACS, ELTA Courier, Geniki Taxydromiki and Speedex are trademarks of their owners. Greece Couriers is an independent CatCode plugin, not an official product of these companies: they do not publish or support it. The plugin works with your own accounts through their web services.
For OpenCart there is a separate module — Greece Couriers for OpenCart.
What the buyer sees
- Courier methods in the WooCommerce shipping zone, each with its own price, free shipping threshold, weight limit and countries.
- ACS point picker in a window with search: first the points nearest to the buyer post code, then search by post code, city, street or name — in Greek or in Latin letters. Next to each point — its type: SmartPoint or locker.
- SmartPoint and locker — up to 6 kg. For a heavier cart they are not shown, and a point chosen before the cart got heavier is dropped by the plugin with the reason.
- No point, no checkout: the server does not accept a point order without a chosen point.
- ELTA collect at the store — no point picker: ELTA holds the parcel at the store that serves the buyer post code.
- Point and tracking — on the thank-you page, in the buyer account and in e-mails.
What the admin gets
- WooCommerce → Greece Couriers: sender and the accounts of the four couriers; passwords and keys are stored encrypted and are not shown after saving. Each courier has Check the connection, which shows the courier answer in its own words; for ACS — Find pickup points.
- Greece Couriers box in the order screen: courier and point with its code, weight, cash on delivery, Create voucher, PDF label, tracking link, Refresh status, Cancel. The point can be changed by hand while there is no voucher.
- Vouchers for orders with another shipping method too — with a courier choice, to the buyer address.
- Closing of the day: the ACS pickup list and the Geniki closing with the Close today’s vouchers button; in Pro — automatically at a chosen hour.
- Pro in the order list: Greece Couriers: create vouchers and print labels for the selected orders; orders with another method are skipped.
How it works — step by step
- You enter the courier details, check the connection and load the ACS points — they go into the plugin table and are refreshed daily.
- You add the (Greece Couriers) methods to the Greece shipping zone (and Cyprus for ACS) and set prices, thresholds and limits.
- The buyer chooses a method. For ACS to a point — chooses the point in the window under the method; only the point code goes into the session on the server, the buyer address fields stay unchanged.
- At checkout the order shipping address becomes the point address, and the buyer address stays in the billing address.
- The manager creates the voucher in the order screen (in Pro — automatically on status or in bulk): the plugin sends the data to the courier, stores the number and gives a PDF label.
- The buyer sees tracking on the order page and in e-mails. At the end of the day — the ACS pickup list and the Geniki closing. The status is refreshed with a button, and in Pro — every hour: a delivered order becomes Completed.
Under the hood
- ACS Rest API (JSON) by the official documentation: points, station by post code, tariff, voucher, label, tracking, cancellation, pickup list. Geniki JobServicesV2, ELTA Courier and Speedex — SOAP through our own XML parsing, the PHP SOAP extension is not needed.
- The point lives on the server only. The point picker JavaScript neither reads nor writes the buyer address fields: only the point code goes into the session, the data comes from the plugin table, and a point that does not fit by weight or type is not accepted.
- Double voucher protection: simultaneous clicks and automation will not create two vouchers for one order.
- Live tariff without waiting: if ACS has not answered within a few seconds, the fixed price is used, and the next cart update does not wait again.
- Pro gate without bricking: when the trial ends, only the Pro features stop.
- Uninstall removes the settings, the point table, the methods in zones, the cron and the cache; if another build of the plugin stays installed (the free one from wordpress.org or Pro), the data is left for it.
How to install
- Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin → the plugin zip (the free version — with the button at the top of this page, Pro — from the link in the e-mail after payment) → Install Now → Activate.
- WooCommerce → Greece Couriers: sender (name, phone, post code) and the details of the couriers you use → Save settings → Check the connection. For ACS — also Find pickup points.
- WooCommerce → Settings → Shipping → the Greece zone → Add shipping method → the methods marked (Greece Couriers); price, free shipping threshold, weight limit. For Cyprus — ACS to the address with Cyprus ticked.
- Place a test order to an ACS point and create a voucher from the order screen.
- For Pro: paste the licence key from the e-mail after payment or switch the trial on in the same settings.
Questions
about the module
Didn't find the answer? Message us on Telegram and we'll reply within a business day.
What do I need from the couriers?
A contract and web service access for each courier you use: ACS — API key, Company ID and password, User ID and password, billing code; ELTA Courier — user code, password and customer code; Geniki Taxydromiki — login, password and application key; Speedex — login, password, customer ID and agreement ID. Only the couriers you have set up are switched on.
Which courier accounts was the plugin tested with?
Honestly: none. ACS and ELTA have no public test systems, Geniki and Speedex give test systems only to customers with a contract. The plugin is written by the official ACS Rest API and Geniki JobServicesV2 documentation and the ELTA and Speedex WSDL and tested on mocks of the courier APIs built from that documentation. We have not created real vouchers with the couriers. The plugin shows courier errors in their own words. Try it with your own account in the 7-day Pro trial — if a courier answers differently, we fix it quickly.
Why is ELTA marked as beta?
ELTA gives the description of its web services only to customers with a contract. The ELTA Courier connection is built from published copies of that description and the WSDL and has not been tried on a real ELTA account yet. Create the first vouchers in the ELTA test system (there is a switch in the settings). ELTA has no cancellation API: a cancelled voucher is only marked in the plugin, agree on the parcel itself with the ELTA store.
Can the buyer choose a Geniki or Speedex point?
No. Geniki Taxydromiki and Speedex in this plugin are delivery to the address only: their APIs have no field to address a voucher to a point the buyer chose. The point picker is for ACS only (stores, SmartPoints and SmartPoint lockers).
Does delivery to Cyprus work?
Yes, ACS to the address only: tick Cyprus in the ACS method, and for a Cypriot address the buyer sees only that method. For a voucher to Cyprus ACS needs a content type — it is entered in the ACS settings, otherwise the plugin stops the voucher with an explanation.
Why close the day?
ACS recognises the vouchers of the day only after the pickup list, and Geniki asks to close the vouchers of the day before the courier arrives. Print the labels and click Close today's vouchers in the settings; in Pro this is done automatically at a chosen hour. ACS does not cancel a voucher that is already in the pickup list — the plugin shows the ACS answer.
Why does a SmartPoint or locker need a mobile number?
ACS sends the code to collect the parcel from a SmartPoint or locker by SMS. So at checkout the plugin asks for a Greek mobile number (69...) for such points, and without one suggests choosing an ACS store. If you have hidden the phone field in the WooCommerce settings, the checkout does not check this, but the plugin stops a voucher without a mobile number before the request to ACS and says what is missing.
What happens after the trial or when the licence ends?
After the 7-day trial only the Pro features switch off, shipping, the point picker and vouchers keep working. A purchased licence (1–5 years) gives updates and support; the Pro features you paid for do not switch off after the term ends.
