Full module description
Payments with SumUp for WooCommerce takes cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and the methods SumUp enabled for your account. The buyer pays in the SumUp form on the order page, and the shop marks the order paid only after a check against the SumUp API.
What the buyer sees
At checkout the buyer picks SumUp and goes to the order page with the payment form. If the bank declines, the buyer sees a message and can try again or choose another method. SumUp translates the form itself, into the page language.
If the confirmation has not arrived yet, the order page says so and asks SumUp for the payment state by itself.
What the admin gets
Paste the API key and press the connection check: the plugin fills in the merchant code and shows the country, currency and available methods. There is no webhook to set up, its address travels with every payment.
Every payment is checked for status, amount, currency and merchant code. If something does not match, the order goes on hold with a note. Several webhooks at once give one note, one stock reduction and one set of e-mails.
How it works, step by step
- The buyer confirms the order and the plugin creates a payment in SumUp.
- The buyer pays in the SumUp form.
- The plugin reads the payment from the SumUp API and completes the order.
- If the buyer does not come back, the webhook completes it, and in Pro the payment watchdog too.
How much it costs
Pro costs 990 UAH for a one-year licence. A year of updates, technical support and all Pro features. You can try it free for 7 days, no card needed.
Under the hood
- Only the SumUp API answer decides a payment, not what arrived in the browser or the webhook.
- The API key is encrypted and the log holds no secrets.
- The webhook is processed at once, with no queue or WP-Cron.
Installation
- Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin: choose the archive.
- WooCommerce → Settings → Payments → SumUp.
- Paste the secret API key and press the connection check.
- Make a test payment in sandbox and paste the live account key.
- For Pro: paste the key or start the 7-day trial.

What do I need from SumUp?
A merchant account allowed to take online payments and a secret API key. For tests SumUp gives every account a sandbox that moves no real money.
I used the official SumUp plugin before. What now?
Turn it off once its unfinished orders close: each payment reports to the plugin that created it.
The buyer paid but the order stayed Pending payment.
Open the order and pick Re-check the SumUp payment in the order actions. If it happens again, press the connection check: it tells whether the site answers its webhook address. In Pro the watchdog re-checks such orders.
The payment form does not appear.
The form loads from the SumUp script. If your site sends a strict Content-Security-Policy, allow the sumup.com domains.
Why is the method missing at checkout?
SumUp does not support the order currency, or it differs from your account currency. The connection check shows the account currency.
Are Apple Pay and Google Pay available?
They appear in the form when SumUp enables them for your account. Availability depends on the country your business is registered in.
Is this the official SumUp plugin?
No. The plugin is made by CatCode studio; SumUp is a trademark of its owner.
