Wood Brothers — an outdoor blinds calculator on Horoshop
A calculator on its own page for buyers from Instagram and Facebook: a kit from the opening size, Nova Poshta and Nova Post Global delivery, and hryvnia or euro invoices without a manager.
Wood Brothers (woodbrothers.com.ua) is a manufacturer from the Kyiv region making reinforced louvred outdoor blinds for gazebos and terraces, as well as timber and wood oils. The shop runs on Horoshop, most buyers come from Instagram and Facebook, and some are abroad. People couldn’t work out a kit for their own opening — how many mechanisms, which slats, what length, what delivery costs — so a manager did every calculation in chat. We built a calculator on a separate page whose link can be dropped into a DM or a comment. It works out the kit and delivery within Ukraine and abroad, and generates the invoice itself.
Technology stack
Horoshop is a closed platform where you can’t add your own code to the theme. So the calculator (JavaScript + PHP) lives on our server, and only a few lines are embedded in the Horoshop page. Delivery is quoted through the Nova Poshta API within Ukraine and Nova Post Global abroad. Requests go to Horoshop’s own call-back requests and to the client’s mailbox. The calculator has a Ukrainian version priced in hryvnia and an English one priced in euros.

A kit from the opening size
The buyer enters the opening’s width and height and picks the slat direction, mechanism type, colour and slat. The calculator works out mechanism kits, joining kits and slats with their cut length, draws the opening and shows the total and the price per square metre. Each opening can have its own mechanism and slat. The manufacturer’s rules are built in: aluminium slats are spliced with a connector and wooden ones are not, the maximum length depends on the mechanism and direction, horizontal sections are split by a post, and everything rounds up.

Items from a list and ready-made kits
Regular buyers and dealers don’t need sizes: they know which mechanisms to take. They get an “Items from a list” mode with photos and links to the products. Ready-made self-install kits, spare mechanisms and remote-controlled automation can be added to an opening calculation.

Delivery in the total straight away
Within Ukraine the calculator takes the live Nova Poshta rate: the buyer picks a town, a branch or courier, and sees delivery in the total. Abroad — to Europe, the US and Canada — it quotes through the official Nova Post Global API. It splits heavy loads into parcels of up to 68 kg, as the carrier requires. If the country or weight is outside the tariff, “the manager will quote” appears instead of a price.

Orders from abroad
The English version shows euro prices from the international price list, export length limits and the 100% prepayment condition. Buyers abroad used to add items to the Horoshop cart and then vanish. Now the cart on the English version is closed, and orders from abroad go only through the calculator, where delivery is visible straight away.

Invoices without a manager
The buyer generates the invoice themselves: in hryvnia on the Ukrainian version, or as a euro invoice with address and company details on the English one, with delivery spread across item prices as the accountants require. The manager gets an email about every invoice. The manager has their own dashboard: all invoices, editing items and actual delivery, and delivery terms set per invoice. Since September buyers have generated 122 invoices this way, 98 of them in euros for customers abroad.

Links across the site and requests from social media
To bring site visitors to the calculator too, we added a home page banner, a menu item, a strip in the mechanisms category and a button on every mechanism’s product page. A request from the calculator arrives in Horoshop tagged with where the person came from: Instagram, Facebook, TikTok or the site.

A Facebook comment bot
The owner used to answer questions under Reels by hand. We connected a bot to the page: it reads a new comment, replies as the page in the same thread and keeps the conversation going. Replies are written by an OpenAI model following the shop’s rules. Since 24 October the bot has replied to 271 comments.
The mobile version
Most people open the calculator on their phone, straight from Instagram. The steps stack one under another, the total stays pinned to the bottom of the screen, and the input fields don’t zoom the page on iPhone.
Summary
We delivered a calculator on Horoshop with its own link: calculation by size and from a list, the manufacturer’s rules, Nova Poshta and Nova Post Global delivery, an English version in euros, invoices without a manager plus a dashboard for them, links across the site, request source tagging and a Facebook comment bot.
