MARSPRO — an online shop for solar power stations

Інтернет-магазин сонячних електростанцій з каталогом 192+ товарів, послугою СЕС під ключ і державною кредитною програмою.

MARSPRO is a full-cycle Ukrainian online shop for solar power: panels, hybrid and grid-tied inverters, Li-ion and LiFePO4 batteries, BMS units, Octa Energy power stations, complete solar system kits and commercial energy-storage systems. Built on top of this catalogue is a dedicated turnkey installation service, a state loan programme, and a gallery of completed projects.

MARSPRO homepage
The first screen offers two paths straight away: the catalogue (an 11-category sidebar) and the turnkey service. On the right, a marketing banner with a family next to an electric car and a “Learn more” CTA.

Context and objectives

We approached MARSPRO as a full-scale e-commerce project that had to support two scenarios simultaneously: a quick purchase of a component (a panel, a BMS unit, a battery) and a consultative deal on designing and installing a solar power station. All of it in two languages (UA / EN) with a multi-currency display (€ + UAH at the current exchange rate).

What was built

  • A WordPress + WooCommerce catalogue of 192+ products across 11 categories, with faceted filters by manufacturer, power, configuration, voltage and charge current
  • A dedicated “Projects” custom post type with its own archive, a single-post template, and a related-projects block
  • Landing pages for “Turnkey solar power stations” and “Solar power stations on 0% credit” — a lead form and in-depth content on the state programme
  • Checkout with Nova Poshta branch selection, cash/online payment, and ordering as a guest or with an account
  • A custom filter-deeplink system (cross-sell blocks link straight to the catalogue with a brand filter already applied)
  • A mobile-first first screen with a sticky bottom nav bar with 5 items (home / categories / search / profile / cart)

Catalogue and filters

The shop carries 192 items from 16 manufacturers (Deye, CATL, JIKONG, SolaX Power, LG Chem, Samsung, AstroNergy, DAH Solar, Risen, Tongwei, Anern, Energy House, Logicpower, Lishen, Panasonic, SK Innovation). The catalogue runs on a single set of filters that rebuild depending on the category — in “Solar panels” only the relevant manufacturers remain (5 of 16), while in “Batteries” a technology filter appears (Li-ion / LiFePO4) along with configuration (16S, 24S, 4S1P and about 20 more variants).

Category page

At the category level, the archive shows a subset of brands and a narrower set of technical filters. Product cards carry a “new” badge, and images are protected by a MARSPRO watermark in the background layer — a small detail that keeps the content unique in Google Images.

The “Solar panels” category — 8 models. The brand filter is already narrowed to 5 relevant manufacturers.

Product card

The product card is built around a single “Add to cart” CTA, next to a quick “Buy in 1 click” button (skipping checkout entirely — just a phone number plus a name). A trust block below the price shows three key shop promises: Nova Poshta delivery, 24/7 online ordering, and a 14-day exchange and return period. Tabs separate specifications, description, reviews and questions — each with its own counter.

Cart and checkout

The cart is condensed to a single screen: a list of items, a promo-code field in an accordion, a summary, and a “Continue to checkout” CTA. Checkout is likewise a single step: email, full name, phone, an optional “Create an account” checkbox, choosing a city and a Nova Poshta branch through dependent selects, order notes, two payment methods (cash on delivery / online), and an order summary on the right.

MARSPRO checkout
A single-page checkout: contact details, an optional account, Nova Poshta (city plus branch/parcel locker), a note, payment options, and an order summary on the right.

Payment and delivery

Five delivery methods were implemented: Nova Poshta (default), self-pickup from a collection point in the village of Bila Krynytsia, plus optional Meest Express, Pony Express, SAT and Delivery on request. Three payment types: cash on delivery (with a mandatory prepayment on large amounts), a cash-on-collection payment at the branch, and a non-cash payment for sole proprietors (FOP) against an invoice and a delivery note. A separate “Warranty” section describes the manufacturer’s terms and the 14-day return period under Ukraine’s Consumer Protection Law.

Projects — a dedicated custom post type

Completed installations live in their own content type at the URL structure /proyekty/<slug>/. The archive is a two-column card grid with a date, title, teaser and arrow CTA. Each card leads to a full-format case study with an internal structure (context → stages → results → summary) and a sidebar with metadata (date, category, time to completion).

Turnkey solar stations and 0% credit

A dedicated service page, “Turnkey solar power stations”, is reached from the main navigation and opens with a full-width hero photo of a field of panels. It’s a marketing landing page with advantage blocks, work stages, and a closing form to request an engineer’s visit. A free engineer site visit is baked into the top bar and appears on every page of the site as a persistent value proposition.

State loan programme

A separate in-depth page explains the terms of the state interest-compensation programme: up to UAH 480,000 for a station up to 10 kW, a term of up to 120 months, a floating UIRD 3+7 rate. State compensation: 0% in the first year, 5% in the second, 7% in the third, then the full rate applies. Besides the interest compensation, there’s a one-off principal compensation of 20/25/30%, depending on the package (G / GB / SGB). MARSPRO’s partner banks for applications: PrivatBank, Oschadbank, Ukrgasbank, Sense Bank, Globus Bank, Poltava Bank.

Homepage

The homepage is a long landing-style scroll with the rhythm: “hero → brand marquee → popular categories in tiles → best-sellers → new arrivals → projects → top sellers → reviews → recently viewed”. A black-and-orange grid of category tiles gives instant visual scannability: bright orange blocks alternate with dark grey ones, letting the eye sweep across 6 categories in a second.

Social proof is a dedicated reviews section with initials avatars, the client’s name and a 5-star rating. Below it is a personalised “Recently viewed” strip (based on LocalStorage history) — a standard e-commerce pattern for retaining repeat visitors.

Contacts

The contacts page is condensed to a single screen: on the left, a structured block with a 0-800 phone number, the address (Bila Krynytsia village, Rivne region, Proizna St. 1), business hours (Mon-Fri 9-19, Sat 10-15) and an email address. On the right is a full feedback form with a file upload. Below the form is an embedded Google Map with the collection point, plus a separate “Stay in touch on Viber” banner linking to the group.

Results

MARSPRO works as a single system: the catalogue drives turnover for self-service buyers, the turnkey service closes consultative deals with an engineer site visit, the credit page captures clients focused on the state programme, and the Projects post type builds an evidence base for new leads. All of it is looped together through cross-sell blocks (product card → catalogue → filter deep link → another product card) and runs in two languages with multi-currency pricing.
