Hotels Israel — a hotel catalogue for Israel with filters and hotel pages
Каталог готелів Ізраїлю на WordPress івритом (RTL): Ейлат, Мертве море, повний фільтр по типу/зручностях, окремі сторінки готелів, FAQ і атракції — 13 готелів Ейлат + 10 Мертве море.
A hotel catalogue for the Hebrew-speaking market — an RTL WordPress site with its own hotel CPT, flexible filtering by type and amenities, individual hotel pages and content sections for each region.
The brief
The client came to us with the idea of launching an information hub about hotels in Israel for a Hebrew-speaking audience — focused on resort regions (Eilat, the Dead Sea), with filtering by hotel type and amenities, and articles about attractions and restaurants. The UX was to feel like a booking aggregator, but the content and design were to be entirely the client’s own.
From the outset the site needed to:
- support Hebrew (RTL) on every page without compromising typography or navigation;
- run on WordPress with custom CPTs — without heavy third-party catalogue plugins;
- have separate region-category pages with filters and counters;
- let the client add hotels, locations, descriptions and galleries themselves, through the WP admin they already know.
What we built
Home page — the entry point into the catalogue
A hero with a hierarchy of direct links to key sections (hotels by country, Eilat, the Dead Sea, Tiberias), a “Popular destinations” block with 6 cards, a “Top hotels” slider with rating badges, a category grid (family, spa, all-inclusive, boutique and so on), an editorial “Discover Israel” block with tabs, and a long SEO text “Hotels in Israel” with anchor links.

Region pages with filtering
Each region (Eilat, the Dead Sea) is a separate archive page with a sidebar filter by hotel type (5-star, luxury, spa, family, all-inclusive, boutique, budget) and amenities (WiFi, pool, spa, gym, kids’ club, restaurant, parking, synagogue and more) — with an (N) counter next to each item. Hotel cards carry a photo, a rating badge (“Excellent” / “Good”), tags and a “Details” CTA.

The hotel page
Each hotel is a single page with in-page navigation (gallery / info / description / amenities / policies), a photo grid gallery of 5 images with a +N counter, a heading with a rating and tags, a direct CTA to the affiliate booking system, a description, amenity cards with icons (“3 pools”, “Spa”, “Nightclub”, “Kids’ club”, “4 restaurants”, “Private beach”), check-in/check-out policies and a slider of related hotels from the same region.

Content section — attractions and restaurants
A separate content type for attractions with long-form descriptions (the venue’s history, menu, features), a photo card and a link to the official website. This page doubles as an SEO engine (long, unique content targeting Hebrew search queries) and as extra value for a visitor who’s already picking a hotel and looking for what else to do in the region.

Technical build
- WordPress 6.x — the foundation, with custom CPTs for hotels and attractions, no heavy catalogue plugins.
- RTL layout — full Hebrew support with controlled typography and navigation, no mirrored UI glitches.
- Custom filter — “hotel type” and “amenities” taxonomies with result counters in the sidebar.
- LiteSpeed Cache — server-side caching plus lazy-loaded images for fast lists of 10+ cards.
- Slick — sliders for “Top hotels”, “Related hotels” and “Attractions in the region”.
- FAQ accordions on every region page, plus a custom 404 page linking back to the home page.
Result
The site is ready to scale its content: the client adds hotels, locations and attractions themselves through the WP admin. The filter and sliders pick up new content without any code changes. At launch: 13 hotels in Eilat, 10 in the Dead Sea, separate restaurant and leisure guides, and SEO text and FAQs for each region. The structure lets new regions (Tiberias, Tel Aviv, Jerusalem) be added with the same pattern — one taxonomy plus one template.
