UA Legal Pack for OpenCart 2.3, 3.x and 4.x covers a set of legal requirements for a Ukrainian online store that’s usually either put off or ordered separately from a lawyer.

UA Legal Pack for OpenCart — consent log with document versions
Consent log: type (checkout or cookie), result, buyer, order number, IP and — most importantly — the document versions that were accepted.

Document generator

You fill in a questionnaire — sole trader or LLC name, registration details, address, contacts, delivery and payment methods — and the module creates four ready information pages: a public offer, returns and exchange terms, a privacy and personal data processing policy, and delivery and payment rules. The texts are in Ukrainian, in line with consumer protection, e-commerce and personal data protection laws. After generation, the pages remain ordinary OpenCart pages — they can be freely edited further.

A cookie banner that actually blocks

A banner with three cookie categories — necessary, analytics, marketing — and “Accept”, “Reject” and “Customise” buttons. The key part: until consent is given, analytics and ad-pixel scripts don’t execute — the banner isn’t just visually hidden. After consent, scripts start immediately, with no page reload. The buyer’s choice is remembered, text, colours and position are configurable, and both languages are supported.

Checkout consent and a log

Checkout gets a mandatory “I agree to the offer and to personal data processing” checkbox with live links to the generated documents. Without consent, the order isn’t created — the check sits at order confirmation, so it can’t be bypassed.

Until consent is given, the “Confirm order” button is inactive and no order is created.

Every consent is recorded in a log: who, when, from which IP, in which language, and which exact version of the document they accepted. The log is filterable and exportable to CSV (Pro) — it’s the evidentiary record in case of a complaint or an inspection.

Document versioning

When the offer’s text changes, the document version increases automatically, and the previous revision is kept in an archive. New consents are then recorded against the new version — so it’s always clear exactly what a given buyer agreed to on a given day.

Free version and Pro

Free: a generator for all four documents, a cookie banner with categories and real script blocking, mandatory checkout consent, a consent log with filters (the last 100 entries on screen), a list of document versions. Nothing is ever deleted from the log — it’s legal evidence, and holding it hostage would be wrong.

Pro: an unlimited consent log on screen, CSV export of the log, and opening an archived document version — the exact text the buyer saw on their order date.

Trial — only on your click. A fresh install is a clean free version: nothing Pro switches on by itself or goes dark after a week. When you want to look at Pro, click “Try Pro”, enter your e-mail, and get a genuine 7-day key — the same one you’d get on purchase, just shorter.

Version history

  • 1.1.0 (OpenCart 3.x) — the OpenCart 3.0.x build moved to server-side licensing. Previously the key was only checked by format, and the trial Pro period switched on by itself right after installation and restarted with every settings save — now a fresh install is a clean free version, and the 7-day trial only starts on a “Try Pro” click. The key is confirmed by the server with a 14-day allowance in case it’s unreachable, and saving settings no longer wipes an activated key. The “Licence” tab now shows licence status with an expiry date and a “Release” button.
  • 1.0.0 (OpenCart 2.3) — a separate build for OpenCart 2.3.0.x. Everything from the later versions: a generator for four documents, a cookie banner with script blocking, mandatory checkout consent, a consent log and versioning. Since OpenCart 2.3 has no controller events, the checkout consent check is inserted via a modification (ocmod) — after installation you need to click “Refresh” in Extensions → Modifications. Files are uploaded to the store root manually: the standard 2.3 Installer only works over FTP.
  • 1.1.0 — fixed a bug where every storefront page on OpenCart 4.0.x returned a fatal error instead of content (event handlers required more arguments than 4.0 passes). Pro now unlocks with a genuine key confirmed by the server, and the trial only starts on the owner’s own click — previously it switched on by itself after installation and after every save. The licence is verified with a 14-day allowance in case the server is unreachable. Fixed the information-page edit handler: on 4.0.x it didn’t fire, so a document’s version could fail to bump. Fixed archive packaging — the previous build wasn’t accepted by the standard OpenCart Installer.
  • 1.0.0 — first release.

Frequently asked questions

Can the generated texts be edited?

Yes. The documents are created as ordinary OpenCart information pages and are open to editing.

Does the banner really block Google Analytics and Meta Pixel?

Yes. Scripts don't execute before consent — it's not just a hidden banner. After consent they start with no page reload.

What exactly is stored as proof of consent?

The user, date and time, IP address, language, order number, and the document version that was accepted.

What happens if I change the offer's text?

The document version increases, the old revision is kept in the archive, and new consents are recorded against the new version.

Can the checkbox be made optional?

Yes, mandatory mode can be switched on and off in the settings.
