HILMENNA — portfolio of artist Anna Serdiuk

Двомовне (EN/DE) портфоліо сучасної художниці на WordPress: повноекранний hero-слайдер із картин, галерея робіт зі статусами Available/Sold, історія, виставки, commissions і форма запиту.

HILMENNA is a portfolio website for contemporary artist Anna Serdiuk, who grew up in Mariupol, trained at the A. I. Kuindzhi art school, holds a master’s degree in architecture from Kharkiv, and has lived and worked in Germany since 2022. Her atmospheric paintings explore light, nature and quiet moments, resilience and inner harmony; her works are held in private collections across Europe, the US and the UK. The site is a multi-page, bilingual (EN/DE) WordPress portfolio built as a digital gallery: showcase the works, tell the artist’s story, gather exhibitions, and carry the visitor towards buying a painting or placing an order (a commission or a wall mural).

Technical stack

A custom WordPress theme (no page builders) with a works gallery, a story, exhibitions, and an enquiry form built on Contact Form 7. The aesthetic is “museum-like”: a warm cream palette, serif display typography for large headings, plenty of white space, muted shadows, and a full-screen hero slider made entirely of paintings. Bilingual EN/DE (EN as the primary language, DE at /de/) with a switcher in the header. Social proof is a 5.0 rating from Google Reviews, featured in the hero, the reviews section, and the footer, with a direct link to the Google profile. The layout is responsive: multi-column galleries and commissions sections reflow into a single column, navigation collapses into a burger menu, and the hero retains its slider and 01/05 counter.

The hero — a full-screen slider of five of the artist’s paintings: a large display logo, HILMENNA, the subheading “Contemporary Artist · Germany”, a 5.0 rating from Google, and a caption for the current work (title + technique) in the bottom-right corner.

Site structure

Main menu: Works (a catalogue of paintings), Story (the artist’s history), Exhibitions, Commissions (orders and murals), Contact, plus a separate Manifesto page. The homepage is built as a sequence of full-screen sections: hero slider → featured works → manifesto → source of inspiration → about the artist → exhibitions → commissions → reviews → contact form.

Hero — a gallery from the first screen

Instead of a static image, a full-screen slider of five works immediately sets the tone of “the site as a gallery”. Over it sits a minimalist block: a subheading, the large serif HILMENNA logo, the tagline “Inspired by light, nature and quiet moments”, a “View Collection” CTA, and a line of social proof (5.0 on Google Reviews). In the bottom-right corner is a caption for the current painting (title + technique); at the bottom, slide navigation and a 01/05 counter.

Featured Paintings — a showcase with a filter and status labels

The “Featured Paintings” section is a grid of painting cards with an All / Available / Sold filter, a carousel, and a “View all works” button. Each card shows the image, a status badge (Available / Sold), the title, the technique and size (oil on canvas, watercolour on paper) and the price in euros (from €180 for a watercolour up to €1,200 for a large canvas). Sold works show “Sold” instead of a price — an honest signal of demand that also works as social proof.

“Featured Paintings” — a works showcase with an All / Available / Sold filter: cards with a status badge, title, technique/size, and price; sold works are marked “Sold”.

Manifesto, inspiration and the artist’s story

Next come quieter, more editorial sections that build an emotional connection: a “Manifesto” block with a quote and a link to the full text, a “The source of inspiration” section with a photo triptych (Dusk, Summer grasses, Quiet path), and a detailed “About the Artist” block — “From Mariupol to Germany” — with the artist’s portrait, the key statement “My art is a search for harmony”, and a link to the full story.

‘About the Artist’ section — From Mariupol to Germany, portrait of artist Anna Serdiuk
“About the Artist” — the story “From Mariupol to Germany” with the artist’s portrait, a manifesto quote, and a “Read my story” CTA: biographical context that adds weight to the works.

Exhibitions, commissions and reviews

The Exhibitions section presents the upcoming exhibition as a large block and a timeline of past ones (2021–2026, DE/ES) listed by year. The Commissions section is a separate business proposition: original paintings to order, wall murals for hotels/offices/restaurants, and a free consultation with a visualisation (“send a photo of your space — I’ll show you the effect”); it’s backed by mock-ups of paintings in real interiors. Trust is rounded off by a collectors’ reviews block (4 quotes plus a 5.0 rating from Google) and a final contact form.

‘Commissions’ section — Art for your home or business, paintings shown in interiors
“Commissions” — a business proposition beyond selling finished works: commissioned paintings, wall murals, and free visualisation, shown through mock-ups of paintings in residential and commercial interiors.

Contact — a form with an enquiry type

The final “Get in touch” section is a contact form built on Contact Form 7 with a Type of inquiry field (Buy original painting / Commissioned painting / Wall mural / Art for business) that immediately segments leads by intent, alongside a direct email and a note on worldwide shipping from Germany.

Inner pages

HILMENNA — Works page: full painting collection with a filter
The Works page — the full collection of originals with an Alle / Verfügbar / Verkauft filter, cards with price, technique, year and size, availability status, and a separate “Kleine Werke” block (small formats for a first purchase).
HILMENNA — Exhibitions page: upcoming, current and past exhibitions
The Exhibitions page — the upcoming exhibition as a large block with a poster and details (date, duration, location, admission), the current exhibition, and an archive of past ones (2021–2025, Germany/Spain) with descriptions.

Individual pages

Besides the homepage: separate pages for Works (the full catalogue), Story (a detailed biography), Exhibitions (all exhibitions), Commissions (a detailed proposition) and Manifesto (the artistic credo). Each exists in two languages — EN (root) and DE (/de/) — with a shared header, footer and form.

Summary

hilmenna.com is an example of an artist’s portfolio site that works simultaneously as a gallery, a business card and a quiet sales tool. Instead of aggressive e-commerce, it takes a “museum” approach: a full-screen slider made of paintings, honest Available/Sold statuses with prices, biographical context that adds weight to the works, a separate commissions business line, and a segmented enquiry form. Bilingual EN/DE support and featured Google 5.0 social proof make the site a working channel for both private collectors and B2B orders (hotels, offices, restaurants).
